Getting started
Patter Call opens straight onto a floor: a square of eight dancers that a set-up sequence has already scattered. Drag or tap call cards into the sequence tray, press Call, and watch the square dance it one step at a time. Get everyone home with their partner, or resolve with Allemande Left into Right and Left Grand, within the floor's par to earn stars.
Frequently asked questions
Why did the app refuse my call?
Every call in Patter Call only works from certain formations, exactly like on a real floor. Ferris Wheel needs two-faced lines, Bend the Line needs lines, and so on. The refusal banner always gives the one-line reason so you can adjust your sequence.
How does Club Night work?
A new square is built on your device every evening from that day's date, so everyone who opens the app that day gets the same square. Solving it keeps your night streak going. You can turn on a local reminder for the evening before club night from Settings.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No. Patter Call has no accounts, no sign-in and no multiplayer. Every puzzle, the Call Book and your caller's card all work fully offline, and your progress is saved only on your device.
How do I reset my progress?
Open the Card tab, tap the gear to open Settings, and use Reset Progress. This clears your stars, badges and saved sequences and cannot be undone.
Why is there no recorded calling or singing?
Patter Call is a thinking tool for the evening before club night, not a recording of a live tip. It's built to sharpen your reading of formations and your sequence-building, so it stays deliberately quiet on delivery and footwork video.
How do I add or change my caller badge photo?
On the Card tab, tap your badge and choose to take a new photo or pick one from your library. The photo stays on your device and is never uploaded anywhere.
